Deputies are the follow up Leader of the Clan when the Leader dies or joins the Elders.  Their tasks are to make border patrols, hunting patrols, and attack patrols.  They are treated with respect from the Clan.  After the Leader dies or joins the Elders the Deputy becomes Leader and must choose a new deputy before sundown.
